District Chair Applications 2018-2019

What are the positions and what do they do?

LtG at large (Recruitment):

  • Provide club officer training with the other LtG.
  • Assist pre-existing clubs in recruiting members.
  • Regularly evaluate recruitment strategies with club officers, and seek out new ideas for clubs and the district.
  • Work to identify potential sites of new clubs.
  • Work to help establish new charters (Kiwanis club, advisors, board of officers, filling petition, etc.)

LtG at large (Retention):

  • Provide club officer training with the other LtG.
  • Assist pre-existing clubs in retaining members.
  • Regularly evaluate retention strategies with club officers, and seek out new ideas for clubs and the district.
  • Meet with presidents/club boards regularly.
  • Work with club boards to assess the status of their club, club needs, and potential club growth.

DCON Chair:

  • Plan and organize the annual district convention.
  • Serve as main point of contact for hotel.
  • Arrange (in conjunction with SWD Kiwanis Executive Director) meals, hotel rooms, meeting space, and other contract items.
  • Plan/create marketing material and decorations for DCON.
  • Promote DCON to general members.
  • Work with Laws&Regulations Chair on awards and to create a House of Delegates packet.
  • Work with service co-chair to plan service projects for DCON.

Fall Rally Chair:

  • Plan and organize the annual fall rally.
  • Plan/create marketing material and decorations for fall rally.
  • Promote fall rally to general members.
  • Ensure meeting space/activities are available.
  • Create and execute a schedule for the weekend, and complete fellowship activities.
  • Work with camp manager and potentially service co-chair to plan a service project for fall rally.

DLSSP Chair:

  • Plan and organize the annual DLSSP.
  • Plan/create marketing material and decorations for DLSSP.
  • Promote DLSSP to general members.
  • Ensure meeting space/activities are available.
  • Create and execute a schedule for the day, and complete fellowship activities.
  • Work with service co-chair to plan a service project for DLSSP.

Fundraising Chair:

  • Create, organize, and execute fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
  • Brainstorm products, pricing, advertising, and assist in tracking sales.
  • Work with treasurer to track expenses/income associated with fundraisers.
  • Create fundraising resources for district use.
  • Serve as resource for club fundraising chairs.

K-Family Chair:

  • Serve as a liason to the rest of the branches of the K-Family and have regular correspondence.
  • Promote K-Family opportunities, including Kiwanis One Day, and Kiwanis/Key Club conventions.
  • Generate resources to promote interaction with K-Family members.
  • Assist in the preparation of a K-Family directory for the SWD.
  • Serve as a resource for club K-Family chairs.
  • Promote CKI events/activities to K-Family branches.

Laws and Regulations Chair:

  • Review district bylaws and policy code.
  • Draft and propose amendments throughout the year to be officially voted on at convention.
  • Aid clubs in need of bylaw assistance.
  • Spearhead awards and contests at district convention.
  • Create a House of Delegates packet.

Service Chair:

  • Create a regular service scoop.
  • Distribute materials from international regarding service.
  • Communicate with club service chairs as necessary.
  • Coordinate service projects as necessary for district events.
  • Lead coordination/creation of DLSSP.

Technology Chair:

  • Serve as the primary webmaster for the district.
  • Assist in district in technology-based questions, such as website information.
  • Post/organize district files for public reference.
  • Aid in the publication of any digital forms for the district. (Fall Rally, DLSSP, and DCON registration).
  • Assist clubs as necessary with technological needs.
